MY WEEK : 41 ( 23RD OCTOBER ) Sorry that I am late with this week's update but as last week was half term for Daniel and the weather was dreadful we decided to escape to our caravan in North Wales for a few days rest and relaxation, we did manage to have one day of good weather the rest of the time it was very wet but still a much needed break was enjoyed. The photograph shows the sunset we enjoyed whilst there.
As you may have noticed last week I made a couple of changes and additions to my website, I have now got a feature where by you can add yourself to my map of where my website visitors are in the world which will be interesting to see. I have created a section on Crop Rotation which I hope will provide you with useful information on how to get the most from your crops and plots, I have also moved all my links to their own section/page as there were so many to list I thought that you would find it easier to look through them, also I have placed the videos that I have produced so far this season under their own section/page once again to make them easier to locate and view.
Last week I had my first order of Christmas Decorations this season, I have noticed that this year seems to be a good year for berries on the Holly unlike last year so my decorations should look at their best. Over the last couple of years I have been doing a range of Christmas Decorations, the Holly Ball on the left is my most popular with the 14" wreaths and table decorations shown below also going well, I find it a nice hobby to do in the winter months on a cold crisp day, sat at my allotments with a wood fire going making them, it is very rewarding being creative as you can probably tell from my allotments.
The weather has been that mild lately that some plants are being tricked into thinking that Spring has arrived although this week we are due to see the weather getting much colder with our first taste of Winter being forecast so unfortunately we may not see all the plants at their best when next Spring does actually arrive, as you will probably have heard in the news this week, Global Warming is the hottest topic around at the moment, have any of you noticed any un-seasonal things on your plots or gardens? Due to the forecast I will be lifting my Spray Chrysanthemums and Gladioli over the next day or two to protect them for next years blooms, I will explain how I keep them over the Winter in my update at the end of this week.
Well that is it for the time being, once again sorry for the delay with this update, I will be back as usual at the end of the week, thanks Steve.
